Ever heard of Six Word Stories ? It's a website, inspired by Ernest Hemingway , challenging people to submit six-word stories. You read it right--exactly SIX words.
I'm challenging you to write THREE (3) six-word stories that tell who you are as a reader, writer, individual. Your stories shouldn't be lists, but statements about yourself. For ideas and inspiration, check out the gallery from SMITH Magazine.
You can do this using any tool that you want. You could make a slideshow, a video, an image, a Vine.... Whatever you like. You just need to make sure that your images and words are yours alone, not copied from Google. For mine (which I made years ago), I uploaded my picture collage to Flickr and annotated it with my three stories. Viewers can move the mouse over the image to see the text.
This is an exercise in creative thought and concise writing. Have fun, and choose your words wisely.
Follow the guidelines below, review the rubric , and check out the videos linked for tutorials to help you create your story:
Each story must be EXACTLY six words--no more, no less.
Write three stories: one that describes you as a reader, one that describes you as a writer, one that describes you--who you are as an individual.
Your image must be an original. You may NOT copy one off the Internet or elsewhere. Be creative: your image can be one photo, several photos mashed together, an original drawing--anything your creative mind can envision.
Your image should complement your stories.
